R.I.P. steve irwin
as much as the guy was a bit of a wally sometimes, i had the utmost respect for his passion for animals and his family life.....
he was a fellow sunshine coaster and homeschooler and he will definately be missed.....

Rest in peace indeed, Steve.
I was going to ask you, Jo, if you knew much about him. I didn't realise they were homeschooling - wow, those kids sure were getting a fascinating education. I loved how much he treasured his family and involved them in all of his daily life.
I'm not coping with all the news coverage showing his wife and kids organising stuff and getting on the plane etc. Can't stand when the media do that.
I was just saying to Noel, if Steve Irwin could have chosen a way to die, it would have been something like the way it did happen - sudden, in the middle of an adventure. Though he probably would've wanted Terri and the kids to be closer.
I'll be thinking of them for sure.
our tv is broken and i think i'm glad i haven't seen any of the footage.
apparantly the family heard about it after the news broke, which just rips me up. :(
they spend a lot of the year in the states, but lots of people you meet have met him around or whatever, so he's very much a presence ... was.. *sigh*...
but as you say, he was doing his thing and that's not the worst way in the world to go....
